How strange it is to know less than nothing—like the moment before a birth. Only, as a newborn, you learn as intended—slowly, with the help of a mother to guide you. When one is born for the second time, it is far harsher, less forgiving. Violent.I was rent from this place of less than nothing and thrust back into a world I’d forgotten and had forgotten me. I came out gasping, coughing, bleeding from my nose, and with a burning in my chest; as if someone had branded my very heart as their own.The first thing I’d ever known was that exact moment when I opened my eyes and saw the night sky, the decaying ruins of a broken cathedral around me. Shards of stained glass reflected the stars from the ground, and my mangled body arched across a chipped altar. But I wasn’t the only thing that left that place.

In the fractured world of 2360, cities rise like spires above a cracking Earth—built skyward to escape the deadly ground. The poor live at the top, clinging to tradition and rusty metal. The rich stay low, ready to flee.
Clarence Degane was never meant to be a Watcher. But after surviving the fall of his city-and waking up changed in way's he can't explain-he's the only one who can feel the pattern forming beneath the cracks. When he discovers a repeating signal tied to each new disaster, he’s thrust into a race against time, hunted by pirates, bounty hunters, and old allies with new agendas.
The world is breaking apart. Clarence might be the only one who sees the pattern forming beneath it.

The Arrival of the Nine
The Hymn of the First Earth
Volume One
Nothing came before us,
the earth stood plain and still.
Not dead, not barren; waiting.
An emptiness to fill. The Nine of us then landed,
a ringing through our bones.
Blinking in the wasteland sun,
the world ahead—unknown. Each turned to the other,
a quiet wonder starting.
We all shook hands and made a pact:
to stand as one, unparting. But questions between us rose:
a reason for our arrival here.
A study of ‘why’ we thus purposed,
and searched the land both far and near. Not yet did the sky bear clouds,
the air was free and clear.
But shadows bent the silent ground,
and a sight beget our fear.---A rumbling too far, too deep,
a silhouette ahead.
A massive form too high, too steep;
to fill the Nine with dread. The three of Life reacted first,
in fright we raised our hands.
A thousand strong grew from root;
The first trees upon the land. The next to act were those of Stone,
they lifted hill and lowered dale.
The mountains rose with heavy groans,
and gave us shield of endless scale. Those of Water came to head,
they built the seas, the rains, the bogs,
and across the world they let it spread
to blind the beasts with fog.In our haste to hide from beasts,
we had stumbled on our duties:
From south to north, and west to east,
we filled the world with beauty.---We had no word for “brother,”
no tongue for “kin,” nor “name.”
For weeks we shouted “you” alone,
and every voice, the same.Sol was first, the deepest rock,
and Sol named Fi, the womb of flame.
Fi named Bran, the over‑stone,
and Bran named Kas when her creatures came.Kas named Mor when her seeds were sewn,
and Mor named Ren of the mythic rains.
Ren named Tor, whose wet winds blown,
and Tor named Mar, who would flood the plains. But Eight we weren't, we totaled Nine,
and Mar thought none would linger still.
For Mar named Sol to start the line,
and left no voice to close the will. One by one, they climbed the hill
and stood upon the mountain shelf.
I bore them all no great ill—
but I was left to name myself.
